The second section of the Open Futurity Go Round of the 2011 NRHA European Futurity & NRHA Show did not bring any changes with the leaders. Finest Copyshot and Rudi Kronsteiner (AUT) are still leading. The mare by I Am Shotgunner that is owned by Anja Deutzmann, scored a 222.5 yesterday.

However there was a change on second place in Level 4. Now there are Time To Mark Big ( Big Checks To Cash x Shes Markin Time, owner Manuel Bonzano, ITA) with Bernard Fonck (BEL) in the saddle and Magnum Cody Jac under Rudi Kronsteiner tying for second place (221.5). Magnum Cody Jac (Magnum Chic Dream x Lena Cody Jac), which was bred by Joanne Lorillard and is owned by Katharina Freitag, was 2010 NRHA Germany Breeders Snaffle Bit Level 4 Open Futurity Champion and Austrian Reining Horse Association Western Star Level 4 Open Reserve Champion. Time To Mark Big was also bred in the States by Ann & Gregg Barnard. Andrea Fappani rode the stallion to the 2010 John Deere Level 4 Open Futurity Reserve Champion title.

With Time To Mark Big, ARHA Austrian Futurity Champion 2010 Ruf Footwork (owner Dr. Paul Van Hooft) and Big Sky Whizard (owner. Color Invest A & S Deredowscy), Bernard Fonck has got three horses in the final now. Also, his wife Ann Fonck-Poels scored a 221 with ND Spook N Whiz today, a 4-year-old mare by Topsail Whiz owned by Gisela Haas.

The NRHA European Futurity will run until April 2, the finals being on April 1 and 2. The Open finalists will be known after the consolation runs on Wednesday. The Non Pro final Level 1 and 2 final on Friday will begin at 2.30 p.m., the Open Level 1 and 2 at 6 p.m. The Level 3 and 4 Non Pro final on Saturday is scheduled for 2 p.m., with the Open finalists following at 6 p.m.

The 2011 NRHA European Futurity & NRHA Show started in Kreuth today with the first section of the Open Futurity Go Round. 81 fine four-year-old reining horses from all over Europe were shown in pattern 6. Total 20 riders will go directly to the finals. Riders placing 21 to 40 will go to the consolation run and top 5 will also get a place to the finals on Saturday evening.


Austrian Rudi Kronsteiner who already earned the Level 4 Champion Open title in 2010, had the best run today riding Finest Copyshot to a score of 222.5. The sorrel American Quarter Horse mare is by I Am Shotgunner out of Its Another Footwork y Footworks Finest. Finest Copyshot which was bred and is owned by Anja Deutzmann, was very successful last year with Bernard Fonck in the saddle. The Belgian who won the European Futurity in 2009, was Western Event Snaffle Bit Level 4 Open Futurity Champion, Oakland Reining Classic Level 4 Open Futurity Champion and Italian Level 4 Open Futurity finalist with this mare.
Bernard Fonck and Ruf Footwork are second at the moment after scoring a 220. Bernard rode the stallion by Footworks Finest out of Jasmines Ruf Blonde (owner and breeders Dr. Paul Van Hooft) to the ARHA Austrian Futurity Champion (3-year-old horses) title last year.
Bernard also managed to tie for third place today riding Big Sky Whizard (Topsail Whiz x Isle Bea Dun It owned by Color Invest A & S Deredowscy) with Broadmoor Cassie ridden by Pietro Artinghelli (ITA) – both scoring a 219.5. The mare by Broadmoor out of Classy Parette (owner Impresa Agricola Cuoghi) is leading in Level 1 to 3 now.

The NRHA European Futurity will run until April 2, the finals being on April 1 and 2.
