Good performance by the Finn's in NRHA Nordic Derby and September Rundown

Sweden's, Norway's, Finland's and Denmark's NRHA Affiliates and reiners organized as cooperation for the first time the NRHA Nordic Derby for 5 and 6-year-old horses. The competition was held in Sweden in Jönnköping’s Fälltrittklubb. More than 100 horse and riders participated in the competition from seven countries. Pete Perkiö and Mandys Little Magnum in Nordic Open Derbyssä.
Pete Perkiö was Reserve Champion as the best European in NRHA Nordic Open Derby with a 5-year-old quarter horse gelding Mandys Little Magnum. The competition was won by the American Don Boyd with Remin Dun It and third was German Oliver Salzmann with Golden Invader. Pete and Mandys Little Magnum won the Swedish Limited Open Derby.

In the NRHA Nordic Non-Pro Derby Pete was the Reserve Champion with a 5-year-old quarter horse stallion Big Flying Rooster. The competition was won by Sweden's Martine Haldammen with Hesa Naughty Boy and third was Denmark’s Christina Johansen Curb Service. In addition to this, Pete and Big Flying Rooster also came seconds in Swedish Limited Non-Pro Derby.

Siri Haanpää and her mare's BH Shining Hickory won NRHA Limited Non-Pro and were placed third in Non-Pro. Siri continued her good performances by winning NRHA Intermediate Non-Pro with Kari Vepsä’s quarter stallion SR Lil Peppy Sprat.

Current Finnish Champion Rebecca Ylitalo was placed second in NRHA Open with Brown Sugar Presence. Rebecca and Brown Sugar Presence were placed second in the NRHA Non-Pro and they win two NRHA youth classes. In addition to this, the pair won the AQHA Senior Reining.

Kari Vepsä and his quarter horse stallion SR Lil Peppy Sprat was placed fifth in AQHA Senior Reining and NRHA Intermediate Open. Auli Kuisma and her quarter horse mare Peca Double Drift came second SRHA in Green as Grass, SRHA Rookie and NRHA Rookie classes. Kristiina Pirinen and BH Broady Bar was placed third NRHA Novice Horse Open. Anne-Mari Ojanperä and Boggies Little Lena were placed sixth in the SRHA Open. Teija Pietilä and Lenas Dual Doll were third NRHA Rookie.

The good team spirit of the Finns and the high-quality performances were noticed. All the Finnish horses and riders reached their best performances of the season and thus Finland indeed was placed second in earnings per horse Norway being only a little bit better.
